Hub Racing is extremely proud to be welcoming 1999 World Amateur Duathlon Champion and multiple USA Pro and Masters Duathlon and Cycling National Champion Marjan Huizing of Team Kenda Tire to the City Bikes RFK Criterium Bicycle Race on June 17th 2007. Marjan Huizing is amongst the many women of the MABRA area that has taken her talents to the highest levels of pro cycling. She was 8th at RFK last year, and this year she is again expected to be in contention for the $1000 top prize versus some of the world's fastest bike racers like 2006 victor Laura Van Gilder of Team Cheerwine. Huizing, with the dynamite Team Kenda Tire and following an extrodinary team and individual victory at the Artemis Bunny Hop, certainly has her sprinting legs ready for the extraordinary speed of the final stretch in the Womens Pro race at RFK stadium. Go Marjan.
Reigning Masters National Champion (50-54 Road and Time Trial) Elizabeth Tyrell of Team Somerset will be gracing the grounds of RFK Stadium as well. With the dramaticly increased dedication over the last several years by MABRA teams to Womens's Masters (age-grouped) bike racing, a fantastic local field is expected to give Tyrell a great race for the money in the Womens Masters Age 40+ race category at RFK.
Hub Racing's Leeanne Manderson will be returning to racing in the USA for the first time in almost 2 years. The 2003 Australian National Champion (Flying 200m Tandem) and former World Record Holder makes her much anticipated return to the USA National Racing Calendar at the CSC Invitational followed by other local appearences at the Crystal City Criterium and of course Hub Racing's City Bikes RFK Criterium Bicycle Race on June 17th. Her victory at Univest in 2005 was her last race before returning to the pro peleton at the Geelong World Cup this past spring. She rejoins a Hub Racing team that features Jenette Williams who recently placed 16th in the omnium at the US Crit Series SE including placing in the money in 7 of 8 races.
