nvgp stage 2 results
the 2nd race on the day and the women didnt slow down.
kristen armstrong took 10th and lost a couple of seconds to
allison powers who took 2nd. armstrong now sits 12 seconds
up on powers in the gc.
the hub racing women:
liz leyden still nursing a bruised hand from liberty had to
hold back in the fast downhill turn, and the gap put her
off the back too early. she missed the time cut and her
racing is over for the week.
also eliminated is josie giddens. after a good tt in the
morning, josie didnt have the speed in the evening and came
off with fellow kiwi dale tye. their group never got large
enough to hold speed, and they were pulled just 1 lap shy
of the minimum.
sally annis had a good tt in the morning, but couldnt get
to the front in the crit. but she got together with a
strong 2nd group and did plenty of work to maintain inside
the time cut.
amy mcguire stayed near the front for the first half of the
race and the effort paid off. when she eventually fell back
to sally's group, she still had enough to hold on. she is
now the lantern rouge in the gc (last placed rider).
arley kemmerer admittedly struggled in the tt. arley was
dissapointed with her morning ride, thus rode with a little
anger in the evening crit. she hung onto the blazingly fast
field for 74th in the main bunch.
sheba farrin had legs tonight. her time trial in the
morning was one of her best tt placings in years, and she
never was out of the top 50 in the crit. she finished 45th
in the field sprint.
cannon falls road race on thursday.
